3-Day Suggested Itinerary – Ha Giang Loop
Day 1: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van
Distance: ~135 km | Riding time: 5–6 hours
Highlights & Timing:
08:00: Depart from Ha Giang city, ride through Bac Sum Pass (30 km, 1 hour) – the first scenic mountain road of the Loop.
10:00: Arrive at Quan Ba Heaven Gate & Twin Mountains viewpoint – 30 minutes photo stop.
11:00: Continue to Tam Son Town (10 km, 15 minutes). Lunch break and rest.
13:00: Ride to Yen Minh (30 km, 1.5 hours), enjoy pine forests and stunning valleys.
15:00: Continue to Dong Van (65 km, 2 hours) – through the UNESCO-listed Dong Van Karst Plateau.
17:30: Arrive in Dong Van. Check-in at homestay or hotel.
Evening: Explore Dong Van Old Quarter & local dinner.
Recommended dishes: Thang Co (ethnic horse stew), grilled pork with mac khen spice, and corn wine (ruou ngo).
Day 2: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Du Gia
Distance: ~120 km | Riding time: 5 hours
Highlights & Timing:
08:00: Depart Dong Van → Ma Pi Leng Pass (25 km, 1 hour). Stop for photos at Sky Path and Panorama Viewpoint (30 minutes).
10:00: Continue to Meo Vac Town (20 km, 45 minutes). Visit local market (if Sunday).
11:30: Lunch in Meo Vac.
13:00: Ride toward Du Gia Village via Mau Due (70 km, 3 hours). Scenic views of valleys and terraced fields.
16:00: Arrive in Du Gia – relax at Du Gia waterfall, swim or chill at the village.
Evening: Dinner & overnight in local homestay with ethnic Tay family.
Recommended dishes: Grilled stream fish, sticky rice with sesame, fried bamboo worms (optional local delicacy).
Day 3: Du Gia – Lung Tam – Ha Giang
Distance: ~110 km | Riding time: 4–5 hours
Highlights & Timing:
08:00: Depart Du Gia → Lung Tam (55 km, 2.5 hours) – visit H’mong linen weaving village.
11:00: Continue to Quan Ba (30 km, 1 hour). Lunch and rest.
13:30: Ride back to Ha Giang (25 km, 1 hour).
15:00–16:00: Arrive in Ha Giang city. End of tour.
